Social Responsibility
Vermonters were "environmentally aware" long before it became politically correct. Being a hardy group due to the long, harsh winters, they "made do" with what they had and made everything last as long as possible; even re-inventing with left overs.
VT Fleece Co. is proud to follow that tradition by using or giving away ends of rolls and any scrap pieces left after cutting, avoiding adding to land fills.
Our scraps have been used in many wondrous ways. For example:
- Schools for art & crafts projects
- Local quilters who make quilts for a camp for children with cancer
- A "99" years young who crochets strips into rugs
- Protection for cookies sent to Iraq for the troops
- Archers stuffing targets for practice
- Long bags full to offer insulation at the base of a home
- Stuffing child-size dolls Seniors who piece quilts in traditional designs Protection to ship pottery
We are always curious to find out what the next use can be!
